The point of applying self tanner when you shower every day or two?
Question by _______: The point of applying self tanner when you shower every day or two?
It says that you should apply every day (jergens) but it washes off when you have a shower so isn’t it pointless? I mean I’m not going to go without a shower for a week to get the best results of a nice shade and even if I got there, how long would it last? Wouldn’t it just wash away too?
It doesn’t make any since since it simply washes away.

I have found from personal experience( Im a self -tanner junkie) that after one application of any self tanning product, you see the most results 24 hours later AFTER a shower. As long as you are using the product everday, you arent showering much off. I think that if you were to apply one application and then shower every day after( without applying any more) then it would gradually wash off and fade.
It doesn’t wash away when you shower. The lotion contains a dye that stains your skin. So when you apply it and let it sit the skin gets stained. Applying every day lets the stain get layered evenly over the course of a few days so you get a gradual “tan”. Once the skin is stained it stays there even through washings. It eventually comes off as your skin cells naturally die and slough off.
