This is the exact reason why many people hate fake tan, because they associate it with looking a horrible fake orange color! Whilst this can be the case it is not always true and that is why you need to make sure you find a good fake tan product before using it.
So what are the signs of a great self tanner? Let’s take a look:
Has to be easy to apply – You want your fake tan to be a nice smooth complex that applies easily and evenly on your skin, this way you will get a even finish that covers your whole body and doesn’t leave any streaks.
Has to have a natural tan color – This is very important, you want the fake tan to give you a natural looking complexion, it is sometimes worth trying them on a small area of skin perhaps on your feet just to test what the color is like.
Has to dry quickly – Although this isn’t a necessity, it certainly helps. The last thing you want is for your fake tan to rub off on your clothes or on your bed sheets, the quicker it dries the better!
Has to be good for you skin – If you’re going to use it frequently then you don’t want it to damage your skin or dry it out. If you can find a fake tan product that acts a moisturizer as well then you are all set!
Finally you want it to smell good as well; the worst thing about many fake tanning products is the smell!
