I just bought this and I am SO GLAD I did – I have been using self-tanners for years and this is superior. The “faux tan” is almost better than natural – it doesn’t have an orange-y color, the lotion smells wonderful and there are no streaks left behind. It’s tinted to help with even application. I really like the bare escentuals line anyway so I wasn’t afraid to try another product from them. Well worth the money.

This is the best sunless tanner I’ve ever used. I’ve tried St. Tropez, Fake Bake, Clinique etc. and they’ve never given me any color. I tried the Bare Escentuals Faux Tan, and it’s non greasy, dries quickly and has a pleasant smell. I woke up to a beautiful, natural golden color. Twenty two dollars may seem a bit pricey, but it’s well worth it. I spent almost fifty dollars on St. Tropez and had to practically use the whole bottle in a week to see any color change. Faux tan is definitely worth the money.

I haven’t tried a lot of self-tanning, tanning lotions, but this is a great product. The color will wash off your hands fairly easily after application. You’ll see enhanced color in your skin within hours, and it will last a few days. If you re-apply twice a week, your skin will look healthy and sun-kissed all the time, without the UV rays and skin damage! (I usually apply, give it 20-30 minutes, then put clothes on and go about my day — trying not to shower for 4-6 hours for max color development.)

Perhaps the formula has changed since this product was so highly-reviewed in the past.
This was my first time trying this particular self-tanner, and I followed the directions to the letter.
Previously a VERY happy St. Tropez user (couldn’t get a bottle in time for event).
Bare Escentuals Faux Tan didn’t leave me completely orange, but brown/orange in some places, and very orange in areas where I had blended (hands, feet, forearms).
Totally unacceptable results to me, as I have had such GOOD experiences in the past with another product.

This is the best sunless tanner on the market! I decided to quit using tanning beds and save my skin so I started using this. It was very easy to put on. It is a dark color so you can see where it goes and where you need more. I first took a shower and exfoliated. After putting on I waited about 20-30 minutes before putting on my clothes to allow to dry. I had no streaking and did not look like an Oompa Loompa!! I started seeing results almost immediately. The smell wasn’t so bad either. It is kind of pricey but well worth it. I figure I can get at least 2 months out of this bottle if I use it once a week compared to the $30 a month I used to spend on tanning beds.
