It will mess up your tattoo. A tattoo is like a fresh wound to the body. Would you put self tanner lotion on a cut if you fell?

i guess it would be fine, because they are going to clean the area before it, but I wouldnt to be on the safer side.

Of course once you have received the tattoo wait a lest a week until its done peeling and has finished signs of still healing before applying the self tanner lotion on again.

It won’t hurt if you use it before, but I would call the tattoo shop and ask them. Also, a tattoo artist once told me that because a tattoo is a piece of artwork, they use your skin color in deciding the shades and everything to make it look the best. If you plan on using the same self tanner in 20 years, then continue with the lotion, or if you don’t, try to lay off the lotion and return to your natural skin color until everything is healed.

you will be just fine. they clean your skin before starting the tattoo anyway, so it will just wipe right off. remember that you will need to get unscented plain lotion for it
