I have very fair skin. It ‘s embarassing to wear shorts and skirts because my legs are so white and ghostly. I don’t tan, so I was wondering what self-tanning lotion I could use, that would look okay with red hair and fair skin?

i have fair skin and red hair too. i use dove self-tanner.

I have the same problem (though with brown hair). I use Neutrogena Summer Glow. It is really really light, but if I use it every day for a week or so it gradually builds to a light tan, which is all I really want. I know I’d look weird with an actual tan and I don’t want to be orangey. Best of all this stuff is so light and gradual, there isn’t really a streak problem! I recommend it!
Im the same and when I have an occasion coming up I use a self tanner. Always go for brands that have a shade option, go for the lightest shade, only apply one coat per day otherwise it may get a little patchy if there is still residue. so just apply one coat a day untill its how dark you like. It should not streak but i have found that make-up remover will help soften the colour or blend any patches that may happen.
some brands that I have used and been satisfied with are dove, and a brand i cant remember but the lotion was called holiday skin in a yellow bottle. always use the lightest shade ones though.
Aveno has a self tanner that you pick the shade. It gradually adds some color. At walmarts its like 14.99, its great.

I love this tanner!! I am very fair with red hair (that gives an indication of how fair) I have used other tanners before and my skin is so sensitive that I have broken out in rashes. This tanner is the best. It gives a light color and just keep applying if you want more. What I love the most is that it feels like you only put lotion on!! I hate that gross feeling that you get when you do the mystic or really any other tanner that has the color guard. This really is the best tanner I have used its natural looking and it doesn’t smell, i only smelled a faint smell the next morning and that was it but nothing at all really. for my hands i rub it on like a lotion and than have a wet towel and wipe off my palms, in between my fingers and dot my knuckles also. After that i wait a minute or 2 and than rub regular hand lotion into my hands and it looks so natural!!! For my feet I take a small makeup brush and brush it onto my feet and it really comes out looking so natural, instead of your toes being white while your feet are tanned. I really love this product I am ordering it now. I love most that it doesn’t even feel like you have it on at all. I live in NY and it gets so gross and humid and I don’t have an AC to sleep in so all the other tanners i wouldn’t use because its the most uncomfortable feeling, but this one i put it on and less than 5 min later i just feel like I have put body lotion on. And it doesn’t come off on your clothing also. Any pale/fair person that is wondering if they should buy this product I would tell you to definitely get it! I have used so many products that either I break out in a rash, it looks so fake and unnatural, or the color guard just feels sticky and gross. I am buying another bottle now as well as a bottle of the regular one to see how that looks on me, I want a little more of a color for the hotter weather.

Just did not yield a natural looking color – leaves a light orangish-yellow hew. This company also did NOT give me an invoice, no receipt of purchase,or way to return the product. Just a buisness card. This made me feel uncomfortable. Wasted 30$!!! Maybe the regular formula works better…I wont be trying it. Sigh…so hard to find a good self tanner!
