L’Oreal By L’Oreal Textureline Textures Spray Firm Hold

Question by ♥Yummy Mommy♥: Self Tanner??
I have researched a bit, and heard good reviews about

L’Oreal
Jergens
Dove
Coppertone
Banana Boat
Aveeno

which brand would you recommend? I’d rather NOT have a gradual moisturizing one where I apply it every day. Right now I have a by neutrogena but even when I a tonne of it on and can’t see any darkness (other than on my knees and ankles of course!)

what brands WOULD you recommend and what ones SUCK?

Thanks!!

i used a couple different self tanners…they turn you orange. it would be a waste to buy self tanners now that its summer and you can tan in the sun. but just so u know the worst ones ive used are dove and aveeno

I personally like L’Oreal, Jergens, Dove, and Aveeno. I’ve never tried the other ones. But I LOVE Dove, you should try it.

When I want a quick dark tan, I use L’Oreal. It performs perfectly every time. I use the gel kind, not the spray, and I blend, blend, blend. That’s the key to a great fake tan. In between using the L’Oreal, I use Jergens gradual tanning cream to help maintain it, but you don’t have to. You can just use the L’Oreal every two or three days if you want.

Before you apply self-tanner, put a little Vaseline on your fingernails and cuticles, and on your toenails too. This will preserve your manicure and pedicure and also keep your cuticles from staining. After application, wash your hands twice, and then wipe off your hairline, your toes, ankles and elbows with a towel. You will get a perfect tan every time.

i use l’oreal….like sublime bronze or something? it has like a lotion, a wipe, and a spray. i think a combo is good, different areas have different needs right? anyways the lotion is good because it is bronze and glittery (when you first put it on, not all the time), and so you see where its going. then of course over a course of like 8 hours it becomes the dark tan…
i dont suggest jergens or dove or aveeno cuz theyre so gradual… i’d stick with l’oreal.

i have used just about everyone out there and i like l’oreal sublime glow medium tone. it is wonderful. my mom has commented on how well it looks. u can get it at cvs or rite aid. i think all the other ones suck good luck!! consumer report also rates the l’oreal high as well.

I used some of those brands…dont use any of them! After about a week in a half…your skin will start to look like its peeling!! it weres off…and looks like a really bad tan..not to mention you do eventually turn orange..i have had a really bad experience with sray ons and rub ins…im just trying to save you from trying to peel your on skin off bc of the nasty apearence after about a week!!

I just got one and I loved it! I went to my cousin’s graduation and they said my color looked so nice and I told them it was fake they said it looked really natural. Believe it or not it was a CVS brand. Spray on, medium kind, half the price of neutrogena and worked really well. If your on the pale side it will give you a subtle color my husband is and it just gave him a tint. Banana Boat also has a lotion that you customize to your color for $10 but its a lotion.

    Aveeno!

The reason I reccomend Aveeno is because it doesn’t stink like most of the other ones. Also, its got a lot of great moisturizers in it that are good for your skin. Most self tanners work if you use them right. I would never reccomend any from bath and body works, I had a disaster of an experience from theirs. I looked like a pumpkin for a week!!

PS the trick to self tanner is to apply regular lotion to areas like knees, elbows and feet/ankles so when you apply the self tanner to those areas it doesn’t leave darker/orange spots. It really works! Also remember the lotion will cling to any dry (as in dry skin) part of your body so you might want to pre-lotion those areas, too.

Make sure you rub the lotion in in circular motions instead of up and down to avoid streaks.
    :)
