sally hansen airbrush self tanner , FAKE BAKE, or Jergen Natural glow?

Question by BLUE-EYES: sally hansen airbrush self tanner , , or Natural glow?
i got a lot of different recommendations on self tanners. Im on a tight budget and am trying to spend no more than 15.00. Ive never heard of amber solaire. but i dont know much about self tanning lotions and airbrush sprays as it is. i need a quick tan for my graduation night, june 5th. i dont want any orangyness or streaks (this is my big day). so should i go buy Sally Hansen airbrush self tanner or Jergens Natural glow or Jergens Fast natural glow? Also about the amber solaire self tanner and FAKE BAKE???, where can i buy it, how much does it cost? And the FAKE BAKE, who is it made by? i kinda need brand names, cuz im dumb when it comes to these things!.lol

I definitely would not use the airbrush. From my experience, it tends to rub off especially when it gets wet, think sweat here, it is a mess to apply, and if not done correctly, you will turn orange (it requires practice which you don’t have time to do at this point).

I would recommend Jergens Natural Glow Express however. Don’t get the regular stuff. Make sure that it is the express. The regular stuff will take too long for the tan to appear. It’s suppose to take three to five days for the express to work to, but here is how to get a nice tan with just 24 hours.

Take a shower, apply regular lotion and let it dry for a couple of minutes, and then, apply another layer of regular lotion to your elbows, knees, ankles, and toes. All of this lotion will help prevent you from turning orange. Now apply the Jergens stuff. Make sure that you rub it in well and over every inch or you will have streaks.

If you are going to put it on your face, pull your hair back and then moisturize your face really well before you put the Jergens on it. If you want to spend 15. You could actually get both the express and the Jergens that is made for your face.

Once the layer of Jergens has dried for about an hour, apply another layer on top of that. Normally, you only apply one layer a day. The advantage to this being that you can begin to see what spots you are missing before you start to streak too badly, but if you are short on time, you can apply two layers at once. It takes about 8 hours for you to get a good idea as to how dark its going to get. I usually do about three layers on my legs since they get very little sun, two on my arms, and one on my face. On me, this makes everything look balanced.

Damage control…if you were to get streaky, simply take some more of the express and rub it into the areas you missed. Use at little as you can and slowly build up the color. If you get some orange areas, get an exfoliating scrub and scrub the orange areas with this and a damp washcloth. It won’t fix it completly, but it will definitely help. The color is mainly contained to the top layers of skin cells.

Hope this helps. Oh, Jergens usually runs -8 a bottle. Well, under your budget. You can get it at Walmart, Target, ect.

I have been using this spray for the past year and a half. I adore it. Its a rich dark brown and is easy to use. I get my hair dryer out and plugged in. I place a colored hand towel on the floor of my shower go in, close the door and do a light spray. I then come out and blow dry…1-3 thin applications works best. I like to spray my face after I’ve applying my foundation, my pores clog easily and applying foundation first helps a lot. It the many many can of this that I have used I have only had one can stop spraying before it was empty. I’ve never had weird dots like the other reviewer described except when I get right to the end of the can. And even then I lightly rub it in and then wash my hands. Again I think this is an amzing product. No orangy color at all…just brown and no one can tell. I’ve got several of my girlfriends hooked on it also! :)

I was only able to use the product once and it worked great! I was very impressed. I rinsed the nozzle like the directions told me to. About half way into the 2nd time I used it, it suddenly stopped spraying. I thought maybe it was clogged, so I rinsed it with warm water again. BUT no! It never worked again. So, I spent $30 on one application! Very disappointed.

This product boasts having a continuous spray that can be used at any angle on the body. No such luck for me. I could not get it to continuously spray from a straight angle, let alone turning it upside down to get the back side. I looked like I had dark brown polka-dots on my skin. I would get one burst of spray and then the nozzle fizzled out and I would have to start over. There was no way that was going to be an even tan the way it looked when I was done spraying. And I was worried what it would look like at work the next day, so I immediately showered it off….washed $25 down the drain!

I have had great luck with this product especially on the body… i do find that the product is soo dark brown that i leave the house looking , i think, great and then i show up in pictures looking like planet of the apes. which is probably due to my own over use… with other products, since they tend to be more orange bronze than brown, even when i am over tanned i don’t feel like i look sooo crazy tan. Really my only complaint is that it settles in my pores so after washing my face it really makes me look older by making my lines, wrinkles, and pores stand out more. i usually spray it on my face then immediately rub on tinted moisturizer to minimize that effect. other than that… the spray is very fine and comes out at a controllable speed. i was using salon bronze from sally’s beauty supply before but the over spray coated my whole apt. in a fine layer of sunless tanner… not only was it a mess to clean, i feel like it waste much of the product. I also like to use the spray for an instant dark glow and use the jergan’s healthy glow to help blend color and minimize the uneven wearing off of the spray tan… in dryer areas the tan tends to grab harder and as it wears off it becomes splotchy. using the healthy glow moisturizer helps it fade more evenly.

Over all i think this product is a winner… i will most likely combine light coats of all 3 products in the future to get the balance of color, blending, and wearing of the product.
